Over two thousand years ago, gifts were given to our Savior, Jesus Christ: Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Gold is obviously a valued treasure, but why the other two?

Frankincense has been used by many religions including ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chirstians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists (The Essential Life). It is used emotionally to unify and mentally to ease depression and to enhance meditation, prayer, and focus. Physically it is used for a myriad of things from congestion to scars, warts to wounds and wrinkles, and seizures to cellular health and cancer.
It can be applied topically to desired area (under nose for meditation, on wounds or scars, etc.) Frankincense can safely be applied NEAT (without a carrier oil) or diluted as desired. Diffuse aromatically for emotional balance, mediation, and congestion. Internal use is not your first go-to, but it can be used in a capsule with Lavender, Grapefruit, and Clove to support healthy tumor and cancer response. A drop under the tongue can also help ease depression.
Myrrh was not only a gift to the Savior as a child, but also used before his burial. Some believe it is what is referred to in the Bible as "the balm of Gilead". It is used to emotionally move from disconnected to nurtured, and mentally to ease depression and anxiety as well as enhance meditation (creates a calming effect). Physically, Myrrh can be used to ease congestion, viruses, eczema and cramping as well as enhance thyroid and immune health. It can be applied to "weeping wounds", fine lines, and bleeding gums as well.
Myrrh can also be applied topically NEAT or diluted to the needed area (temples, wounds, abdomen, gums). If you're unsure, just remember "NEAT on the feet" for your go-to place for oils. Diffuse aromatically for emotional balance (meditation, depression, anxiety, etc.). Take internally (in a capsule) for infection/virus or to ease digestive issues/cramping.
CONCLUSION
Together these gifts provided protection from illness both physically and mentally in a time when "modern medicine" didn't even exist. What a blessing it is to have these gifts so readily available to us today in addition to modern medicine. I am so grateful for essential oils in my life and for the "Wise Men" who loved my Savior enough to give him such precious gifts.
